Alhaji Murtala Yakubu Ajaka has said former Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, would be remembered for his years of public service and contributions to the political and developmental history of the state.

Ajaka, in a condolence message on the death of the former governor, described Idris as an important figure in Kogi State’s political history whose passing marked the end of a significant chapter in the state.

He noted that Idris served as governor for nearly nine years, between 2003 and 2012, and played a significant role in the affairs of the state during his time in office.

According to him, the former governor’s years in public service and his contributions to the state would remain part of his legacy.

“This is a painful loss, not only to his immediate family but to the people of Kogi State and everyone whose life he touched during his years of public service.

“His Excellency, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, served our state at the highest level and remained an important figure in the political history of Kogi State. His passing marks the end of a significant chapter in our state,” Ajaka said.

He extended his condolences to the immediate family of the deceased, the people of Omala Local Government Area, the Igala Kingdom and the entire people of Kogi State.

Ajaka prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive Idris’ shortcomings, accept his good deeds and grant him Al-Jannah Firdaus.

He also prayed for strength and comfort for the family and loved ones of the deceased to bear the loss.
