Former Governor of Ondo State, Olusegun Mimiko, has officially joined the All Progressives Congress (APC). Mimiko, known for his notable achievements in the health sector, was received at the APC secretariat in Ondo West Local Government by the party’s state chairman, Babatunde Kolawole, alongside the Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Olamide Oladiji.
The former governor resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in April, fueling speculation about his next political move.
Mimiko, who governed Ondo State from 2009 to 2017, was previously a prominent figure in the Labour Party before defecting to the PDP, where he later held influential positions both at the state and national levels.
His return to active politics through the APC is seen as a significant political development in Ondo State, given his longstanding influence and strong grassroots support base.
