Expert advocates online learning as solution to education crisis

Chief Executive Officer of eTutors Nigeria Limited, Adeniyi Ajayi, has urged the adoption of online learning platform as a key solution to Nigeria’s worsening educational challenges .

Ajayi said digital learning would help to address overcrowded classrooms, insecurity, poor access to qualified teachers, and high transportation costs.

In a statement titled:‘Online platform, a solution to overcrowded classrooms, others,’ he said that traditional methods could no longer meet the growing academic needs of Nigerian students, adding: “Our education system is in crisis and needs a holistic approach—not just to safeguard the future of our children but to also position Nigeria for global competitiveness.”

According to him, platforms like eTutors can redefine learning by offering secure, affordable, and interactive alternatives to physical tutoring.

He, however, described the platform’s launch as a pivotal moment in Nigeria’s educational development, connecting students to qualified tutors nationwide and beyond.

Ajayi, who noted that more than 75 per cent of students scored below 200 in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
