Trained health workers for family planning have warned women against patronising quacks to reduce unwanted pregnancies, maternal mortality rate and untimely death of women in the country.
The family planning health workers, who spoke with The Guardian in Ibadan during a routine media visit to the Primary Health Centre in two local councils in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, said that it is dangerous to patronise unqualified officers.
A Family Planning Provider Community Health Officer, Mrs. Ogunsesan Funmilola, who spoke at Abidi-Odan Primary Health Centre in Lagelu Local Council, said cases of failed family planning were as a result of the people patronising untrained officers.
