Fan club engages kids at summer with musical training
As a way of keeping kids busy during the long holidays, Total Child Fan Club, an offshoot of Total Child With Aunty TK show on Eko 89.7FM, dedicated the summer to training children between ages four and 16 on how to play diverse musical instruments, professional photography and goal setting.
The training, which ran from August 1 to 31, was loaded with back-to-back drill. Founder of the initiative, Olatokunbo Falode-Asekun, a child wellness enthusiast and an On-Air-Personality (OAP), said parents should encourage their wards early to activities that will develop and sharpen their cognitive skills.
“Many parents believe learning is all about academics, but it is just a fraction of it. The knowledge and skills learned from non-academic ventures go a long way to shape their future potentials. Exposing them early to vocational training is best for them in their formative years, reason why the fan club decided to engage the kids all through the holidays,” she said.
The fan club holds its meetings every Saturday and offers children training in musical instruments, ICT, etiquette & finishing, ballad dance, radio presentation and sports.
