The Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has commended media organisations and practitioners in the state for supporting his administration and maintaining high level of professionalism in the discharge of their responsibilities.
Fayemi, who spoke through the state’s Commissioner for Information and Values Orientation, Akinbowale Omole, gave the commendation during a press briefing heralding the activities marking the administration’s end-of-tenure and inauguration ceremonies for the incoming administration of Mr. Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji.
The governor noted that the public goodwill enjoyed by the administration was hinged on the wide coverage given to developmental projects, policies and other economic and social strides.
Fayemi also appealed to the media professionals to extend similar support to the incoming administration.
In his comment, Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ekiti State chapter, Rotimi Ojomoyela, commended the Fayemi administration for creating an enabling environment for journalists and other media professionals to perform their professional duty without any fear.
Ojomoyela advised the incoming Oyebanji-led administration to sustain the conducive atmosphere already created for journalists and other professionals to carry out their duties without any form of hindrance or molestation.
