Federal Government, weekend, commended Mudiame University for inventing the Aq-Diesel, also known as Aqua-Diesel, saying it would solve the nation’s lingering energy’s crisis.

Aq-Diesel is the combination of water with diesel in the presence of catalysts and other reactants for power generation and transportation.

Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Olorunnibe Mamora, gave the commendation during the unveiling of Aq-Diesel at the Mudiame University in Irrua, Edo State.

He was represented by the Manager, Technology Incubation Centre, Benin City, Mrs. Ezeobiefuna Joy Omosede, who observed that universities in the country had not been able to come up with designs towards solving critical problems but Mudiame University has done so within a short time.

Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, while applauding the university, said his government knew the challenges faced by its citizens, thus the introduction of the Ossiomo power plant, powering some government facilities in the state.

“I want to state here that the state government on its part has been making efforts to address energy issue in Edo State,” he added.
