Former Benue State Governor and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senatorial candidate for Benue North East Senatorial District, Gabriel Suswam, has alleged that the Federal Government is witch-hunting Governor Samuel Ortom over implementation of the anti-open grazing law in the state.

Suswam said it takes courage for a governor to dare the president’s order as Governor Ortom has done.

He said this, yesterday, at the Nongu u Kristu u i Ser u sha Tar, (NKST) 2018 Synod in Mkar, Gboko Local Council.

Ortom said the Open-grazing Prohibition and Ranches Establishment Law, which Governor Ortom signed, is clearly against the interest of the Presidency, hence, the witch-hunt by Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and other Federal Government agencies.

The former governor urged Benue people to set aside their political differences and queue behind Ortom, who risked his political ambition to defend his people against enemies of the state and is ready to do more.
