A former Director-General of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Dr. Paul Orhii, has resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Dr. Orhii also declared his decision to pitch his tent with the opposition coalition party, the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
In a letter addressed to the PDP Chairman, Atirkyese Council Ward in Ushongo Council Area of Benue State, the former PDP governorship aspirant in Benue State in the 2019 and 2023 elections, cited extensive consultations with his family, political associates, and supporters across Nigeria and beyond as the basis for his decision.
He said: “After intensive consultations with my family, friends, thousands of my supporters and political associates locally, nationally, and globally, I have decided to resign my membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with immediate effect”.
He explained that his move to the ADC was inspired by a desire to join like-minded Nigerians committed to what he described as a rescue mission for the country.
