Former Registrar, National Examination Council (NECO), Professor Abdulrashid Garba, has emerged Vice Chancellor, Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University (KHAIRUN), Kano.

The statement issued by administrative secretary of the private university, Malam Yusuf Datti disclosed that Professor Garba emerged top among several academic after a rigorous process.

According to the release, the appointment of the pioneer Vice Chancellor has already been approved by the Board of Trustees of the University under the chairmanship of Emeritus Professor Muhammad Sani Zahradeen.

Garba, a Professor of education with a career spanning over 33 years of teaching, research and community service experiences was former served as Vice Chancellor, administration, Bayero university Kano.

He then served as Chief Executive Officer of the National Examination Council (NECO) as well as special adviser to the Minister of Education which further highlight his commitment to educational development.

The university expresses it’s confidence in Professor Abdulrashid Garba’s ability to lead and guide its path towards a future of excellence and distinction.

Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University, Kano, one of the recently licensed private universities by National Universities Commission (NUC), is named after the late father of business mogul and president of Bua group of companies.
