Foundation calls for better monitoring of orphanages

The founder of Child Hero Global Foundation (CHEGCAF), Chinonye Chidolue, ‪has called on government to regularly visit children in orphanages to see how their welfare is being sustained, aside ensuring structural management of the outfits.

At the event to mark CHEGCAF’s 3rd anniversary and yearly funfair for children drawn from different parts of Lagos, Chidolue said: “We have been doing this for three years now, teaching orphans on how to be resourceful through skills acquisition, which can help them advance in future, thereby inculcating in them such virtues as team spirit, leadership and selflessness. It is the core and most interesting part of our goal.”‬

The foundation, she said, was established to impact and empower orphans and less-privileged children through monthly vocational and capacity-building programmes, amongst others.

The children went home with lots of prizes and gifts after dazzling performances.

The event featured a dancing session, choreography, spelling bee, rhymes and singing, while comedians took turns to entertain the children. ‬
