In its bid to assist the less-privileged in the society, a non-governmental organization, G1st Foundation, at the weekend donated free food, drinks, and herbal tea to the needy at Ikorodu local council of Lagos State.

According to the president of the foundation, Sonnia Agu, she embarked on the social development and capacity building initiative with the aim of making an impact on the society and the world at large. “We have embarked on a few missions in Hungary and South Africa. We also try to make people understand that each of us is endowed with our unique potentials.

“This project is tagged #Project Feed 1000 Strangers as part of our intervention campaigns to reach out to the less privileged. The herbal tea is meant to help detox and cleanse their system.

“This project was inspired by my visit to Hungary in 2015. Hungary seems to be one of the poorest European nations and I discovered that as poor as Hungary is, they still manage to feed their people on a daily basis. So I thought why can’t we do something like this in Nigeria?”

She advised other non-governmental organizations to contribute their quota to the development of the less privileged in society, as government alone cannot help the downtrodden to live a quality life.
