Foundation hosts carol party for children
To celebrate the yuletide season on a joyful note with children, URJA Foundation, last week, treated the minors to an exciting Christmas carol party.The foundation said the party, an annual event, is a platform for giving back to the less privileged in the society.
Guests at the event were entertained with the children dishing out different performances, which included poem recitation, Christmas songs, games, dances and raffle draws. Some of the participants smiled home with prizes after emerging winners of games and quiz competition.
Mrs. Rukhi Mitra, founder of the foundation said: “URJA is an Indian foundation, which delights in giving back to society. I have been in Nigerian for 30 years. The foundation usually hosts parties six times a year— during Christmas, Easter and Independence Day.”
She urged the children to improve on their educational performance.Glory Edeth, a beneficiary of URJA Foundation scholarship, who also entertained guests at the occasion, thanked the foundation for helping her through school.
Mr. Ebenezer Oshodi, a father of another scholarship beneficiary, said the party was wonderful, as it helped to make the children feel loved. Mr. Franklin Ileubaoje also commended the foundation for organising the event. He specially thanked the foundation’s initiator, Mrs. Rukhi Mitra, for her efforts at putting smiles on the faces of less privileged.
