The Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) is making a plan aimed at leveraging on the government’s Renewed Hope Housing scheme to provide affordable houses for its staff strength of five thousand across the country.
Speaking on a radio programme in celebration of its 75th anniversary of FRCN in Abuja, the Director General, Muhammed Bulama explained that they already have begun strategic discussions with estate developers and companies on how to construct houses on the plots of land in Ibadan and Gwagwalada in Abuja.
Bulama also stated that they want to equally key into the present government”s Renewed Hope Housing scheme so that the staff would have affordable homes, adding, “the project will improve their welfare, especially as we’re planning to open new Medium Wave Radio Station in Ibadan axis.”
On staff welfare,he declared:
We’re trying in terms of staff welfare and with improved budget allocations, we will make sure that our workers are well taken care of for them to deliver quality service to Nigerians. We’ll not relent on the issue of housing for the staff.
The Director General further explained, since we are now going digital,we will do everything possible to continue to uplifting the people and uniting the nation, this we will do especially in the democratic setting as ours.
On political parties reportage in Nigeria,he stated explicitly that the radio station has been fair to all registered parties, debunking the issue of giving more coverage to the ruling party, All People’s Congress. We give equal rights to these parties operating in the country.
