FRSC approves only East-West traffic on Second Niger Bridge

Following planned temporary opening of Second Niger Bridge from December 15, 2022 to January 15, 2023, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), yesterday, said the bridge would only opened for vehicles coming from the East to West.

FRSC Delta State Corps Commander, Udeme Eshiet, disclosed this in a statement made available to journalists in Asaba, Delta State. Eshiet also said heavy-duty trucks and trailers would not be allowed to use the new bridge.

He said: “The general public and road users should cooperate with all traffic managers to ensure free flow of traffic during the period. FRSC officers in Delta State is collaborating with all relevant agencies to ensure that traffic gridlock usually experienced during this time of the year is completely eradicated.”

The state Corps Commander also appealed to all road users to avoid speeding, excessive loading, use of unsafe tyres and driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs to arrive alive.
