Ganduje, 40 members to receive INEC certificates of return
Also bid to receive similar certificates are 40 members of the Kano State House of Assembly who won their various constituencies.
The incumbent Governor Ganduje beat the candidate of the main opposition, PDP, Abba Kabiru Yusuf with 1,033,695 and 1,024,713 votes respectively.
The Governor-elect was declared winner of the supplementary poll by Professor Bello B. Shehu after a clear margin of 8,982 votes difference.
Out of the 40 assembly seats, the All Progressives Congress (APC) captured 27, leaving 13 constituencies including the eight councils in the municipality for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Director, Voters education and publicity, INEC Kano, Muhammad Garba Lawal confirmed this to The Guardian in a telephone conversation.
Garba said INEC national commissioner in charge of Kano, Jigawa and Katsina, Engr. Abubakar Nauche is expected to present the certificates of return to the elected officers on behalf of INEC Chairman, Professor Muhmud Yakubu.
