Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, yesterday, said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) could best be described as a dead in Kano.

He said this at the formal declaration of Senator Basheer Garba Lado and about 116,000 of his followers for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He added that the PDP had lost relevance and was merely buying time before it collapses.

Ganduje said the declaration by Lado would add value to the prospect of the APC in the forthcoming election in the state, given his wealth of political experience and vast followership.

He also told the mammoth crowd at the Sani Abacha Stadium that the emergence of Engineer Bashir Yahya Karaye as APC state chairman has put to rest the political wrangling that almost tore the party’s leadership apart.

He assured the people of Kano State that projects abandoned by his predecessors would be completed under his administration.

President Buhari, represented by General Mamman Magoro, an APC chieftain, welcomed the new entrants and assured them of his support.

Lado, a former PDP senator representing Kano Central, pledged to work for the success of his new party in the forthcoming local government polls and subsequent elections.
