Gbajabiamila leads team to Commonwealth meeting in Tanzania

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, has led the Nigerian delegation to the 50th Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) Africa Region Conference which began yesterday in Zanzibar, Tanzania.

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, has led the Nigerian delegation to the 50th Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) Africa Region Conference which began yesterday in Zanzibar, Tanzania.

Also in the team were Deputy Senate President Ovie Omo-Agege and members from the two legislative chambers.

The event, with the theme, “E-Parliament: Seamless Platform for Facilitating Democracy”, is considering a wide range of issues to sustain ties among member-states.

Gbajabiamila pointed out that the platform would be maximised to enhance the nation’s democracy and deepen cooperation with others with a view to strengthening civil rule in Africa.

The yearly general meeting of the conference holds on September 4.
