Government, police, deny herdsmen invasion in Kogi

The Kogi State Government and police authorities in the state have denied alleged herdsmen attack at a motor park in Lokoja, saying rumour peddlers were on a mission to create panic and tension in the state.

The Kogi State Government and police authorities in the state have denied alleged herdsmen attack at a motor park in Lokoja, saying rumour peddlers were on a mission to create panic and tension in the state.

They were reacting to online Media reports of alleged herdsmen invasion of Big Joe Transport loading point in Lokoja, saying the report was false and unfounded.

Director General of Media and Publicity to the Kogi State Governor, Kingsley Fanwo disclosed this in a statement in Lokoja yesterday.
Also, a statement issued by the state’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP William Ovye Aya, noted that the report was false and urged members of the public to disregard it.There was panic in Lokoja following reports of alleged herdsmen’s invasion of Big Joe loading point, in which several persons were killed.
