Former Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara State, Kayode Zubair, has asserted that neither economic nor political solution would ease Nigeria out of her present dilemma.
Lamenting the country’s security problems and economic woes, which, according to him, put the citizens in untold hardship, Zubair suggested spiritual solutions as the only panacea to the country’s problems.
Calling on all captains of other sectors to bring their expertise to the table towards revamping the country, Zubair added that spiritual efforts should take the lead in finding lasting solutions to the country’s unpleasant situation.
Speaking at the yearly spiritual gathering he convened at the first Evangelical church winning All (ECWA) in Ilorin on Saturday night with the theme, ‘Shabach Praise’, Zubair told newsmen: “I am a politician, but it is now obvious that spiritual efforts have not been fully employed in tackling the nation’s problems. I still feel the need for a spiritual approach. Let other professionals, too, tackle the problem from their own professional angle.”
He said he got the inspiration for the yearly praise when he realised that Nigerians were too far away from God.
“There is the need to bring them back to God.
“Though fortune has been sunk into this event, there is no amount of money that is worth the nation’s problem and the lives of its youths,” he said, listing banditry, kidnapping, economic paralysis and other problems as those now widely embraced by the youths.
He enjoined the youths to turn to God and obey his commandments.
In his sermon, Rev Owojaiye Babatomiwa, urged the congregation to prioritise peace as emphasised by Jesus Christ, describing it as the lasting solution to restful life.
