Following President Bola Tinubu’s recent vote of confidence in his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, South East/South South Heritage Foundation has saluted the President for standing by the CoS and attesting to his sterling qualities.

President of the socio-political group, Chief Kenneth Uzoigwe, described as heartwarming Tinubu rising to the occasion to defend Gbajabiamila. “We salute the President for discouraging unnecessary and unwarranted insinuations.”

Uzoigwe, who was Special Assistant to Gbajabiamila on Political Matters (South East) when he was House of Representatives Speaker, warned mischief-makers and propagandists to stop actions capable of distracting Gbajabiamila from doing his work.

He also vouched for the CoS as a trustworthy leader and a man with the interest of the country at heart.

The group’s president appealed to the National Assembly to do something about fake news, which is fast becoming a menace in the society, fearing that the trend might get out of hand, if left unchecked.

He said: “It is on this note that I want to appeal to the National Assembly to make a law that will prohibit fake and unverifiable stories, especially on social media. We all can attest to the danger fake news is capable of, so we should do everything possible to nip such irresponsible practices in the bud. We cannot fold our arms and let the hard-earned reputations of people be maligned just like that.”
