Pilgrims departs for Hajj

The Adamawa Muslim Pilgrims’ Welfare Commission, has begun induction for intending pilgrims ahead of 2025 Hajj operation, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.

NAN reports that the training was declared open by the Executive Secretary of the commission, Malam Abubakar Salihu, on Saturday in Yola.

Salihu said the training was aimed ensuring that intending pilgrims understood the theoretical and practical knowledge of pilgrimage as well as its objobjectives.

The executive secretary, who was represented by Director of Research and Statistics, Hajiya Maryam Boda, urged participants to complete payment for their respective Hajj seats before the end of January.

Malam Ya’u Gambo, the Scheduled Officer, Yola-North Local Government Area of Adamawa, who spoke on behalf of the 21 scheduled officers, called on the intending pilgrims to cooperate with officials during induction and at the Holy land during the pilgrimage.

Gambo also said attendance for the ongoing training was compulsory and would be used in qualifying intending pilgrims to go for the 2025 Hajj, insisting that intending pilgrims must have at least 75 per cent attendance.

Gambo said that the induction would be conducted every Saturday and Sunday at the commission’s conference hall.

Hajiya Maryam Adamu, the Director, Finance and Supply explained the importance of timely payment for Hajj seats in order to avoid any unforeseen eventuality.

Adamu said those who paid on time would be considered first and advised intending pilgrims to open accounts with commercial banks, saying this would help in case of refund of money and other related challenges.

Malam Muhammad Chubado, a cleric and member of the induction committee, tasked intending pilgrims to understand the importance of the induction for an accepted Hajj.

Chubado urged the intending pilgrims to performed successful Hajj, so that they would obtain mercies from Allah and rewarded with key to paradise.
