Hon. Mpakaboari appointed executive assistant
Renowned philanthropist, Ambassador Mpakaboari LongJohn, has been appointed as the Executive Assistant, Youth Development, Peace Building and Conflict Resolution to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State.
The founder of the Mpakaboari Longjohn Foundation (MLJ Foundation) who has over 10 years of experience in peace and conflict resolution, internal security, and peace building, will put his knowledge into use to generate a culture of peace and conflict free environment, particularly among the youths.
Speaking on the appointment, Mpakaboari promised to engage the youths who have key roles to play in Nation building and peace processes.
“These young people have key roles to play in peace processes because they have a clear vision of what peace could look like in their communities and have the drive to work towards the realization of these goals.
According to the business tycoon, the youth, products of their communities, are key agents of peacebuilding, especially those who have experienced conflict firsthand.
“It is increasingly important that, rather than using young people as agents of disunity and destruction, we must see them as agents of peace, intercultural and inter-religious dialogue and advocates for social cohesion in their communities,” Mpakaboari said.
Ambassador Mpakaboari LongJohn, is better known for his selfless acts of service personally as well as the MLJ foundation. Notable also is his genuine interest in the development of the riverine communities in the Niger delta.
Before his appointment, Mpakaboari has been widely recognised because of the several humanitarian and charitable works the MLJ foundation undertake in various communities in Kalabari land, Rivers & Delta states and Niger delta region as a whole.
