The baton of leadership of Ikorodu Doyen Lions Club, Lions Int’l, District 404A3 Nigeria was passed to Olabode Oluwole as the 43rd President of the Club at his investiture. The event was presided over by the District Governor, 2024-2025, Lions Int’l, District 404A3 Nigeria, Dr. Folasade Shotomide in Ikorodu, Lagos.
Oluwole regarded the elevation as an opportunity to serve humanity and promised to embark on meaningful projects during his service year. He said: “My projects for this service year under Vision Awareness and Cataract Surgery include distribution of 600 pieces of both reading and bifocal glasses to visually impaired persons; giving out of 700 eye drops and carrying out of cataract surgery for not less than 10 people among other tests such as BP and Diabetes tests.
“We are giving out foodstuffs and other house hold items to the under privileged, widows, motherless babies homes, correctional centers and people living with disabilities within our community under our Feed The Hungry Programme.”
“We will uplift youths to be more responsible under the Youth Engagement Programme, carry out childhood cancer awareness programme and also test people for sugar levels, give out drugs as well and create awareness for prevention.”
Oluwole added that there would be monumental legacy project. Shotomide who was sure that Oluwole would certainly carry out all the laudable projects during his service year also disclosed the District’s plan of empowering the youth under a large scale agricultural programme.
