Igbinedion varsity partners ECCT on digital tech education
IGBINEDION University, Okada, in Edo State, has partnered with Ehizua College of Creative Technology (ECCT) to expand its scope in digital literacy and programmes.
The Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Lawrence Ezemonye, stated this during the inauguration of Ehizua creative tech hub in Benin.
Ezemonye said that the partnership was to further translate the desire to transit from analogue to digital training.
He said that the university had incorporated digital disciplines and digital literacy in all aspects of its programmes.
He said: “With Ehizua hub now, we have the latitude to expand the scope of engagement in our digital literacy and programme.
“The programme will go a long way in enhancing our desire to join and produce future ready graduates.
“We have been in partnership in the last 13 months, and even before then, the university had partnered various information Technology (IT) academies like Microsoft, Mikrotik, Cisco and Huawei.”
The VC noted that the partnership is to ensure that there is a digital skill, which is in tandem with global demand.
He maintained that the hub would be an international platform for both students outside and within the continent.
