The media office of Mr. Peter Obi has dismissed as false and misleading two statements currently making the rounds on social media, both of which falsely claim to reflect the position of the 2023 Labour Party Presidential Candidate.
The spokesperson of the Peter Obi Media Reach (POMR), Ibrahim Umar, in a statement on Wednesday, indicated that one of the fake statements suggests that Mr. Obi has ruled out returning to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and reaffirmed his commitment to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
“The second claims he has been offered the role of National Organising Secretary (NOS) within the ADC.”
“We want to make it absolutely clear: Peter Obi did not issue, authorize, or endorse any of those statements,” said Ibrahim Umar, spokesman of the Peter Obi Media Reach (POMR).
Obi, who has been the subject of ongoing political speculation, remains steadfast in his commitment to the New Nigeria vision—a mission that transcends partisan manipulation and political gossip.
“Mr. Obi speaks for himself and does not need anyone to put words in his mouth. Attempts to exploit his name for political mischief will not be tolerated,” the media office added.
The POMR urges the public, media outlets, and political stakeholders to verify all communications and to rely only on Mr. Obi’s verified social media handles or official press releases from his media office.
“Let it be known: any statement not from his official sources should be treated as false and mischievous,” the statement added.
