Ignore rumours, I belong to APC, Gombe Rep tells supporters
House of Representatives member for Akko Federal Constituency of Gombe State, Usman Kumo, has told his supporters that he belongs to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He described as fake the report that he has left APC for New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP), adding that the development is the handiwork of “faceless mischief-makers.”
In a statement, yesterday, made available to The Guardian in Lokoja, Kogi State, the lawmaker said it was uncharitable for anyone to peddle such wicked rumour at a time he was working hard to ensure that the party wins in the next elections.
Kumo said he remains a loyal APC member, who would continue to work for the success of the party.
“Let me reassure everyone that the APC remains my home. The rumour by those faceless persons that I moved to NNPP could only have come from the pit of hell,” urging everyone, particularly the press, to disregard the rumour, as it was not only misleading but actionable.
“For the avoidance of doubt, l remain a bona fide APC chieftain in Gombe. It is the party that has given me the opportunity to represent my people and it remains the platform for me to win the next election in 2023,” Kumo added.
