Ihedioha extends suspension of former LG bosses, others
Imo State Governor Emeka Ihedioha has extended the suspension of the chairmen, vice chairmen, councillors and political appointees of the 27 councils with six months.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Chibuike Onyeukwu, yesterday, the governor said he was empowered by the laws of the state to order for the extension, following the interim report of the committee set up by the state government to investigate allegations of financial misconduct against them.He said that even as the committee had not concluded its assignment, the interim report was very damning and warranted the extension of the suspension.Ihedioha consequently renewed the appointment of the Interim Management Committees of the 27 councils.
