A socio-political group in Imo State, the Imo Progressives Movement (IPM), has commended Governor Hope Uzodinma for what it described as remarkable achievements in infrastructure, education, healthcare, technology, and other key sectors over the six years of his administration.
The group described Uzodinma’s leadership as purposeful, visionary, and transformational, pledging its continued and unwavering loyalty and support to his government.
Speaking to journalists shortly after the group’s National Executive Council meeting in Owerri at the weekend, the National Convener of IPM and member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Eugene Dibiagwu, urged politicians in the state to contribute constructively to Imo’s development and warned against actions capable of creating instability or undermining ongoing governance efforts.
Dibiagwu said the group would not tolerate attempts by individuals or groups to distract or destabilise the administration through what he described as needless political tension.
“The IPM issues this clear, unambiguous, and unmistakable warning to all those who, driven by personal ambition, envy, or political mischief, seek to constitute a nuisance in Imo State under the guise of political activity,” he said.
“We have a governor who is working, delivering, and transforming lives. We will not allow any individual or group to distract, destabilise, or undermine that mission.”
He said members of the group had personally assessed several projects executed by the Uzodinma administration across the state.
“We have inspected the roads. We have toured the hospitals. We have visited the schools. We have seen the conference centre, hotels, flyovers, bus terminals, and the university. We know what this governor has done, and we will not permit people with limited vision and records to trivialise or politicise genuine achievements,” Dibiagwu added.
He urged those who genuinely care about the progress of Imo State to align with the administration’s good governance drive and support ongoing developmental efforts.
“Those who choose the path of recklessness and political brigandage should be warned in clear terms that the Imo Progressives Movement will not fold its arms while Imo is distracted from progress,” he said.
