Armed security operatives invaded bandits’ camp in Kaduna at the weekend, rescuing nine victims, while a bandit lost his life in the ensuing shootout.

In a statement by spokesman of Kaduna Police Command, ASP Mohammed Jalige, the police and special security forces stormed the camp of the bandits and rescued the victims.

He said, “On December 31, 2021 at about 0200hrs, the Operatives of the Kaduna State Police Command in collaboration with the Force Intelligence Bureau and Special Tactical Squad of the Force Headquarters, Abuja and some local vigilantes, stormed a notorious bandits’ camp belonging to one Isiya, located in the forest of Sabon Birni village of Igabi LGA of Kaduna state.”

It was a response to intelligence that some victims were held hostage for ransom in the said forest.”

Jalige explained that “the mission was cautiously and successfully executed, resulting in one bandit neutralized, while many others escaped with varying degrees of bullet wounds.”

However, he pointed out that, “two suspects namely Rabe Baushe and Badamasi Usman were arrested and taken into custody for further investigation.”
