Insecurity: Cleric solicits special salary for police, others

To tackle insecurity in the country, founder, Hours of Mercy Prayer Ministry, Prophet Muyideen Kasali, has demanded special salary packages for Police officers and other security agencies, to boost their morale.

Kasali said the menace of herdsmen attack, which has taken new dimension and kidnapping was, becoming worrisome, noting it would take a well funded combined forces of the police and military to fight the crime.

He implored political leaders, including governors, National Assembly members and traditional rulers to rise up and tackle the rising insecurity in the Southwest, by mobilising the populace against banditry.

Kasali appealed to governors in the Southwest not to treat the alarm raised by Afenifere that the region was under siege of herdsmen attack with levity.

The cleric asked the governors to begin aggressive mobilisation by alerting tradition rulers, security groups, like Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) and vigilante groups, to be observant to prevent breakdown of law and order.
