The Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) has urged stakeholders in the political parties to work harmoniously together to have free, fair, credible and peaceful election.

Urges eligible voters to come out en-masse

The Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) has urged stakeholders in the political parties to work harmoniously together to have a free, fair, credible and peaceful election.

The council implored the eligible voters to turn out en-masse and vote for their preferred candidates and also ensure their votes count in the overall result.

According to it, the era of vote-buying and selling is over. The electorate should not sell their destiny for a mess of electoral porridge. They should vote according to their conscience as power belongs to the people.

National Chairman of IPAC and National Chairman, African Action Congress (AAC), Dr. Leonard Nzenwa, made the call during a press briefing yesterday in Abuja.

He said: “The council has reason to call on all stakeholders on the compelling need to work harmoniously together to have free, fair, credible and peaceful elections across the country.

“You are all aware that the Anambra State governorship election comes up on Saturday, November 6, 2021. Eighteen political parties are participating in this crucial election that will redefine governance in Anambra State and deepen constitutional rule in Nigeria, more so as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has assured that it will adopt electronic transmission of results during the exercise.”

IPAC, therefore, urged all stakeholders in the electoral process to ensure the success of the poll in Anambra State.

It also urged all aggrieved people to sheathe their swords and embrace peace in the interest of the state in particular and the nation in general.

Besides, the council advised the youths to eschew violence and shun political buccaneers masquerading as democrats whose stock in trade is to use them for electoral thuggery, ballot snatching and rigging to thwart the people’s mandate.
