IPOB accuses Federal Government of working to incite Igbo against Ijaw

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has accused the federal government of working towards causing enmity between the Igbo speaking Biafrans and the Ijaw people.

A press release signed by spokesperson of the group, Emma Powerful, and made available to newsmen in Awka alleged that by creating perceived splinter group of IPOB and naming its leader as an Ijaw, the federal government had perfected plans towards pitching the Igbo against their ijaw neighbours.

“By carefully inserting a fabricated Ijaw name as the leader of this non-existent group, the federal government is looking towards generating enmity between the Igbo-speaking part of Biafra and the people of Ijaw to further make the restoration of Biafra an impossibility by entrenching perpetual enmity among various sections of Biafraland,” the group said.

IPOB berated Ohanaeze Ndigbo, describing it as political jobbers who are not ashamed of their lowly political status in Nigeria.

According to Powerful, those thinking that IPOB is a pushover group are in for a shocker, vowing to make them understand that no amount of divide and rule tactic would prevail.
