Aguleri community in Anambra East Local Council, yesterday, warned the self-acclaimed auto-pilot leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Simon Ekpa, against threatening their traditional ruler, His Royal Highness (HRH), Dr. Michael Idigo.

The joint body of Aguleri Town Union leadership and Aguleri Royal Cabinet issued the warning, while briefing newsmen at the Palace of Eze Idigo.

Speaking, President-General, Aguleri Town Assembly, Chief ifeanyi Iloakasia, said Igwe Idigo, Ezeudo Aguleri, did not at any time visit Mazi Nnamdi Kanu at Abuja whether alone or in company of anybody.

Iloakasia said Ekpa must have mistaken Igwe Idigo of Aguleri for Eze Chukwuemeka Eri, Eze Akajiovo, who supposedly visited Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and made public statements thereafter, maintaining that Igwe Idigo never paid any visit to Kanu at any time.

He said: “Aguleri Community Assembly has noted with displeasure and bewilderment, the various comments made by Simon Ekpa and some other members of the IPOB directed at Igwe Aguleri over his purported meeting with Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in Abuja.

“Eze Idigo did not at any time pay visit to Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the detained Leader of IPOB, nor speak for him on the sit-at-home issue in the Southeast, and therefore did not warrant any form of threat by Ekpa.

The community, therefore, cautioned Ekpa against issuing threats and harassment on their traditional ruler forthwith.
