Goje gives constituents 500 tricycles, 1,000 motorcycles worth N1b

No fewer than 13,243 women from three of the 16 local councils of Taraba state, yesterday, received maximum of N60,000 grant each from Governor Darius Ishaku.

A total of N789 million has been disbursed to them under the Nigeria for Women project (NFWP). Flagging off the disbursement at the Jolly Nyame Stadium, Jalingo, Ishaku affirmed that women, who received the funds under the pilot scheme, were from Takum, Bali and Zing councils, adding that they submitted themselves to the tenets of NFWP) and had proven themselves capable of handling growth, having practised the methodology of savings and loans as well as business, gender and life skills.

ALSO, Senator Danjuma Goje (Gombe Central) has distributed 500 tricycles and 1,000 motorcycles worth about N1 billion to his constituents and supporters. The former governor said the gesture was to make them self-reliant.

Speaking at the event at his Gombe residence, Goje said the gesture would reduce unemployment rate among his people, especially youths and women.

Represented by Abubakar Kurba, representing Yamaltu West Constituency in Gombe State House of Assembly, Goje urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the items, assuring that many youths and women would continue to benefit from such interventions.
