The former Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission (NUC), Prof. Peter Okebukola, has distanced the Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, from the alleged misuse of funds meant for administering the agency.

Okebukola, who chairs the JAMB Equal Opportunity Group (JEOG), in a statement in Abuja, faulted allegations surrounding the misapplication of JAMB’s 2025 budget.

Okebukola, who has worked closely with Oloyede for seven years in his role as JEOG Chairman, praised Oloyede’s commitment to financial integrity and administrative excellence in both his public and private endeavours.

Okebukola remarked that under Oloyede’s exemplary leadership, JAMB has not only upheld the highest standards of financial integrity but has also become a showpiece for the entire African continent, setting a benchmark for transparency and accountability in public institutions.

“I have not had the faintest whiff of any financial misdemeanour where Professor Oloyede is concerned. His meticulous approach to budgeting and financial management has ensured that every naira is accounted for, and all expenditures are judiciously planned and executed,” he said.

“The transformative initiatives he has implemented have significantly improved the efficiency and effectiveness of JAMB’s operations, benefiting millions of students across Nigeria.
