Jigawa State Government has approved the launch and implementation of Disability Trust Fund for women, children below five years and others living with disabilities across the state, with a call on women affair’s ministry to come forward with a plan for the formal launch in a week’s time.

The Deputy Governor, who doubles as Chairman, Steering Committee of Social Protection Council, Alh. Umar Namadi gave the directive at the end of the Social Protection Council Meeting he chaired in his office, yesterday.

During the deliberations, the council demanded the payment of outstanding stipends of the monthly cash transfer, directing such payments to start with those who were screened despite challenges of Bank Verification Number (BVN) faced by over 25 per cent of beneficiaries.
