The National/State Joint Supervisory Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) instituted under template for mediating the internal crisis rocking the party in Kano will commence sitting on Friday.

The committee scheduled to commence sitting despite the rejection of the G-7 group under the leadership of former governor, Mal. Ibrahim Shekarau, who citing lopsidedness in the position and constitution of the Mai Mala Buni-led committee for mediation.

The five-man powerful committee under the leadership of Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, which include Senator representing Kano Central, Mal. Ibrahim Shekarau, Zamfara State Governor, Bello Matawale, former speaker House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara and Senator Abba Ali, is expected to submit recommendation to the party headquarters in the next seven days.

A statement issued by Kano State Commissioner for Information, Mal. Muhammad Garba, disclosed that the committee has concluded necessary arrangements to receive other members of the committee for a reconciliation meeting in the state.

Garba, who quoted Ganduje and who is also the Chairman of the committee, said a venue has been secured for the meeting scheduled to begin on Friday, February 11, 2022 in the state capital.

“Ganduje assured members of the National Secretariat of the APC and party stakeholders in the state of the committee’s readiness to give a voice to all concern with a view to bring unity and progress in the party in the state and the nation in general,” the statement reads.

Efforts to break peace between the Ganduje’s and Shekarau’s led factions of the party has ended in futility owing to inability of the two groups to reconcile their demands in the proposal submitted to the headquarters.

Besides, the two groups are anxiously waiting for the ruling of the Court of Appeal, which is expected to determine the faction that will take full control of the party structure.
