The newly elected deputy Organizing Secretary of All Progressives Congress (APC), in Kano, Barr. Abdulsalam Ginsau has been found dead in an Abuja elevator.

The lifeless body of Barr. Ginsau was uncovered on Saturday by the management of the hotel after the whereabouts of the deceased could not be traced on Friday morning.

The Guardian gathered that Barr. Ginsau, who was part of the Kano delegates at the recent APC convention in Abuja, arrived on Thursday evening. The delegation soon sensed the danger when Ginsau was nowhere to be found on Friday at the convention ground.

The organizing secretary of the party, Kabiru Zawaciki, who confirmed the development, revealed that all efforts to locate Ginsau at the hotel were not successful, even after representatives of the party compelled the hotelier to open his room with the master key.

” He was supposed to join us at the convention ground on Friday morning from his hotel. Unfortunately, he was nowhere to be found. Yet his phone line was not going through after several calls to it.
” We were worried about his whereabouts, and it took us a while to go visit the hotel. The room was locked. We informed the management of the hotel, and they produced the master key. Unfortunately, he was not found in the room. We have to evacuate all his belongings and hope he will be found.

” Unfortunately, in the evening on Saturday, we received a call from the police to come over to a divisional post near the hotel, only to uncover the lifeless body of Ginsau lying on the floor. What happened and where this happened, we were told that the management of the hotel found him dead in the elevator”. Zawaciki narrated.

Zawaciki, who regretted the pathetic circumstances surrounding the death of his colleague, assured the deceased could have suffocated in the elevator during a possible power outage and eventually died due to the system failure.
He said the corps, which would arrive in Kano on Wednesday evening, was initially deposited at the national hospital for thorough investigation to ascertain the true cause of Ginsau’s death.

” We had remained in Abuja since Saturday on the instruction of the leadership of the party to carry out the necessary medical investigation to ascertain the cause of his death. An autopsy has been conducted, and we are waiting for the result.

“Again, his lawyer colleagues have begun legal action on the matter, especially against the management of the hotel, which cannot give a satisfactory response to some of the questions around the death. And that was one of the reasons the burial was delayed. The corps will arrive in Kano this evening for proper burial tomorrow, Thursday”. Zawaciki added.
Meanwhile, the spokesperson of APC in Kano, Auwal Sani Soja, has said the party has launched proper investigation into the circumstances that led to the death of Ginsau.

He disclosed that the party had contacted the family of the deceased and constituted a committee at the state level to investigate the incident in collaboration with security agencies.
Soja added that the Kano State Government had also reached out to the family and was working to uncover the circumstances surrounding the death.

Speaking on behalf of the family, a guardian to the deceased, Hamza Haladu, described the development as shocking, stressing that the deceased was full of life before his trip.

Haladu noted that the state government had intervened, with the governor assuring the family that no stone would be left unturned in determining the cause of death.
