Kano State, yesterday, commenced mass vaccination against the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) targeting of 3.4 million residents.

Kano State, yesterday, commenced mass vaccination against the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) targeting of 3.4 million residents.

Already, the State Primary Health Care Management Agency declared that over one million Kano residents have received a complete dose of the vaccine since vaccination began in Kano.

Executive Secretary of the agency, Dr. Tijani Husseini, disclosed this development during a workshop organised for media practitioners on the mass vaccination campaign.

Tijani, who was represented by the Director, Disease Control and Epidemiology, Dr. Imam Bello, debunked alleged rejection of COVID-19 vaccines in Kano.

Emphasising that significant improvement was seen in the number of people voluntarily accepting the vaccine, Tijani noted pockets of phobia due to inadequate awareness.
