Taraba LG chair hails Army for restoring peace in community

The Executive Chairman of Karim Lamido Local Government Council, Bitrus Ilu Danjos, has lauded the Nigerian Army’s 6 Brigade/Sector 3 of Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) for their successful operations in restoring peace and security to the area.

Danjos issued the commendation during a courtesy visit to the troops’ camp in the Andamin community, following the progress made under Operation Lafiyan Jamaa an ongoing clearance mission that has led to the destruction of over 70 bandit camps, recovery of arms and ammunition, and the restoration of calm to previously volatile communities.

Accompanied by a delegation from the local government, Danjos expressed heartfelt appreciation for the troops’ commitment and resilience, highlighting the leadership of Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa as instrumental to the operation’s success.

In a show of support, the chairman pledged continued backing of initiatives to maintain security across Karim Lamido LGA.

Receiving the delegation on behalf of the Brigade Commander, Lieutenant Colonel D. Otobo thanked the local authorities for their partnership and reiterated the Army’s dedication to protecting lives and property in the region.

Brigadier General Uwa, in a related statement, reaffirmed the Nigerian Army‘s resolve to uphold national security and urged the public to continue cooperating with security agencies by providing timely and credible information.

He emphasised that such collaboration was key to sustaining peace and ensuring community safety.
