Kebbi, Bauchi governors present N189b, N195b budgets for 2022

Kebbi State Governor, Atiku Bagudu, has presented a budget of N189,237,459,798.27 for the 2022 fiscal year to the House of Assembly. This is as his Bauchi counterpart, Bala Mohammed, presented N195,355,607,143.

Kebbi State Governor, Atiku Bagudu, has presented a budget of N189,237,459,798.27 for the 2022 fiscal year to the House of Assembly. This is as his Bauchi counterpart, Bala Mohammed, presented N195,355,607,143.

Presenting the budget, Bagudu said that N74,977,037,841.34 is expected from the federation account and N14,249,106,950.85 from Internally-Generated Revenue (IGR) to fund the budget.

He disclosed that the recurrent expenditure would gulp N61,060,451,684.31 (32 per cent)while capital expenditure would take N128,177,008,113.96 (68 per cent).

According to him, the budget is of economic consolidation.

SIMILARLY, Mohammed, while presenting the document on the floor of the House, yesterday, said N195,355,607,143 has been budgeted for capital and recurrent services in the 2022 fiscal year. This comprises recurrent expenditure of N84,375,180,518 (43 per cent), while capital expenditure gets N110,620,426,625 (57 per cent).

“The 2022 proposed budget is 8.5 per cent lower than that of this year. The reduction was arrived at in order to align our projections with the current economic realities, especially related to our ability to meet anticipated revenues. This conservative approach was adopted to ensure that projects and programmes captured are implemented.”
