He disclosed that the recurrent expenditure would gulp N61,060,451,684.31 (32 per cent)while capital expenditure would take N128,177,008,113.96 (68 per cent).

According to him, the budget is of economic consolidation.

SIMILARLY, Mohammed, while presenting the document on the floor of the House, yesterday, said N195,355,607,143 has been budgeted for capital and recurrent services in the 2022 fiscal year. This comprises recurrent expenditure of N84,375,180,518 (43 per cent), while capital expenditure gets N110,620,426,625 (57 per cent).

“The 2022 proposed budget is 8.5 per cent lower than that of this year. The reduction was arrived at in order to align our projections with the current economic realities, especially related to our ability to meet anticipated revenues. This conservative approach was adopted to ensure that projects and programmes captured are implemented.”
