Kebbi trains120 youths on fish farming

The Kebbi State government has trained 120 youths on fish farming to alleviate poverty and boost the economy.

Presenting certificates to the participants, the state governor, Atiku Abubakar Bagudu said that the training workshop on fish farming is part of its commitment toward supporting the agriculture sectors and ensured the people are gainfully engaged.

Represented by the state Commissioner for Animals and Fisheries, Alhaji Maigari Abdulahi Dakingari, the governor urged participants to use their knowledge to create wealth.

Responding, the state Chairman, Association of Fish Farmers and Aquaculturists of Nigeria, Mallam Bello Raha thanked the state for the support and assured all participants would use their skills to improve the welfare of their families.

He appealed to the state government to establish fish farmers cluster areas at the banks of rivers and streams to enable them carry out farming activities.
