KEDCO assures consumers of adequate power supply

Managing director of Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO), Dr. Jamilu Gwamna, has disclosed efforts to ensure adequate electricity supply to consumers in Kano, Jigawa and Katsina states, particularly at the yuletide.

Giving the assurance during KEDCO’s fifth anniversary, he stressed the commitment of the company to meet the energy needs of its customers in the region.The KEDCO boss said that more reforms were on the way for efficiency and growth in the power sector, which, according to him, is a driver of the economies of the three states.

He stated: “As the company matures with time, it will build more distribution networks and improve the billing system through the distribution of meters, which will snowball into improving the revenue collection for power consumed in the region.”

Gwamna listed power theft, vandalism and sabotage as major threats to energy distribution in KEDCO’s area of coverage, and therefore tasked the people to be vigilant and report such cases to the authorities.
