Gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Gombe State, Dr Jamil Isyaku Gwamna, has enjoined members of his campaign organisation to avoid hate speeches as the campaign for votes go on.

He expressed optimism that with the marvelous achievements of incumbent Governor Inukwa Yahaya in the state and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s reforms through the Renewed Hope Agenda, APC remains the party to beat.

”Therefore, as we spread the message of ‘Gombe Above All’, let us try to keep our eyes on the ball, focus on the programmes and policies that will deliver the good governance we promise the good people of Gombe State,” he stated.

Gwamna maintained that only through issues-focussed campaigns devoid of name-calling and hate-mongering, will the electorate believe in democracy. He stressed that the people of the state deserve a campaign that speaks to their concerns, addresses their needs and presents a clear vision for a better future.

Recalling how he made it clear from the outset that his campaigns to become the governor of Gombe State must be issues-based, the APC guber hopeful declared: “Now, as we hunt for votes, our campaign should be people-centred and solutions-driven, with no room for insults, personal attacks or needless distractions.

“I have no interest in politics of insults, personal attacks, or needless distractions. That commitment remains as firm today as it was on the day it was made and continues to define the direction of our campaign.”

He explained that his decision to adopt ‘Gombe Above All’, as the guiding principle of his gubernatorial aspiration was to ensure that every Gombe citizens reflects on the better interest of the state while voting or supporting any candidate.

“What we are taking to the people revolve around issues that matter to our people, including job creation, economic growth, youth and women empowerment, agriculture and livestock development, education, healthcare, infrastructure, entrepreneurship, investment and innovation,” he noted.

He therefore called on the people to support President Tinubu and Governor Yahaya, who is contesting for the Senatorial seat, as well as all other APC candidates contesting for the Senate and House of Representatives in the state.
