Kogi State Government has promised to pay the 2024 bursary to students of Kogi origin in higher Institutions across the country who registered for the 2024 State Government Bursary Award.

The Commissioner for Education, Wemi Jones, made this known when he received the Executive of the National Association of Kogi State Students (NAKOSS), led by the National President, Dr. Jeremiah Elukpo, in his office in Lokoja.

The Commissioner noted that the Governor of Kogi State, Usman Ahmed Ododo, will prioritise education and stated that all the students of the state in higher Institutions across the country would feel the impact of the government.

Jones, who allayed fear that some students might be left out of the program said everyone who completed the online registration would receive their entitlement after a verification exercise.

He stated that the government was verifying the 10,200 students who applied and completed their 2024 Bursary Allowance Registration online.

The National President of the Kogi State Students Association (NAKOSS) Dr. Jeremiah Elukpo, said they were in the office to get first-hand information about the scheme, saying they were worried some students might be left out.
