Local government workers in Kogi State have issued a five-day ultimatum beginning from Monday, July 15 to Friday, July 19, 2019 to directors and treasurers of councils in the state to comply with their demands.

They are seeking compliance with the Nigeria Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU’s) guidelines on the need to priorities workers’ monthly salaries and allowances.

The ultimatum was contained in a communiqué issued at the end of a meeting held by leaders of Kogi Central Branch Union Forum and signed by Chairman of NULGE, NUT, NASU, M/HWUN, NANNMS and NUP.

The joint union leaders, who charged the councils to comply with their earlier demand without further delay, assured that they would use all necessary means to ensure compliance with the NFIU directives and guidelines, with a view to paying their 100 per cent salaries, pensions and allowances.
