The King Kosoko Royal Family in Lagos has disowned reports of a fresh enforcement of judgment over land at Ogombo Town, Eti-Osa Local Council of the state, saying that the matter was concluded by a consent judgment in November 2024.
The family, through its duly appointed representative, TBT Properties Ltd., also warned members of the public against dealing with anyone claiming to act on its behalf without written authorisation from the company.
In a statement by TBT Properties Ltd and signed by Timothy Ogbonaya, the company said the family had not authorised any fresh enforcement in respect of suit No. LD/12881LMW/2022.
According to Ogbonaya, the suit was concluded through terms of settlement dated November 1, 2024, which were entered as a consent judgment on November 12, 2024, by Justice O.O. Ogunjobi of the Lands Division of the High Court of Lagos State.
He said the judgment was subsequently registered as Instrument No. 85/85/2127 on February 24, 2025, while an Enrolment Order dated June 10, 2025 granted the family absolute possession of 114.476 hectares at Ogombo Town, Eti-Osa Local Council.
Ogbonaya said the property covered by the judgment was identified by Survey Plan No. OGJ/5283/006/2023LA, dated October 26, 2023, adding that execution of the judgment by the Sheriff of the High Court of Lagos State, using Form O, was completed in July 2025.
“After judgment, the court became functus officio,” Ogbonaya said, adding that subsequent applications seeking to be joined as parties or to set aside the consent judgment were struck out by the court in its rulings of May 6 and June 10, 2025.
He, therefore, described the application as incompetent and an abuse of court process.
The company also said that no individual who was not a party to the suit and whose name did not appear in the consent judgment, enrolment order or subsequent rulings had been authorised to deal on behalf of the Kosoko family in respect of Ogombo land.
It, however, advised the public to disregard any purported claim made under the suit unless it was accompanied by written authorisation duly signed by TBT Properties Ltd.
