Lagos arraigns 28 year-old man for defiling teenager

Lagos State Government yesterday, arraigned a 28-year-old man, Moses Joseph before a Lagos High Court, Ikeja, for allegedly defiling a minor.

Lagos State Government yesterday, arraigned a 28-year-old man, Moses Joseph before a Lagos High Court, Ikeja, for allegedly defiling a minor.
 
Joseph was arraigned on two-count charge before Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo, for an offence bordering on the act of indecent treatment of a 13-year-old girl.
  
The prosecution alleged that the defendant, on September 17 about 11:00p.m, indulged in an act of indecent treatment of the girl (names withheld) by putting his finger in her private part (vagina) and making her perform a sexual act.
  
The act took place at 25, Kadiri Street, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos State within Ikeja Judicial Division.The prosecution said the offence contravened sections 135, 137 of the Criminal Law, Ch, C16, Vol 3 Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
  
However, Joseph denied the offence and pleaded not guilty to the charge. The judge subsequently adjourned the trial till November 9 and ordered that the defendant be remanded in the facility of Nigerian Correctional Services (NCoS).
