Lagos-Badagry rail, road projects to be completed in 2019
Governor Akinwunmi Ambode yesterday said that the phase two of the Lagos-Badagry road and rail projects, between Mile Two and Okoko, would be ready in 2019.
He also disclosed that the section between Okoko and Seme would be given to concessionaires and that the process was about being put in place.
Ambode, who stated this during an on-the-spot assessment of the project at Fin-Niger area, said that the state government decided to concession that section to fast-track the work.
He said that his administration was committed to accelerating the completion of the project not only because it would ease movement of persons and goods, but also boost economic activities.
The governor also said that the road project would complement the construction of the deep seaport in Badagry.
Besides, Ambode, while inspecting an ongoing road and bridge project at Aboru area of Alimosho Local Council, told the residents that though he had promised it would be delivered by the end of this year, it would now be completed in the first quarter of 2017.
On the dilapidated Irede road in Oriade Local Council Development Area, he promised that work would start on it in four weeks.
